Reflect •Relate •Rise

The K.U.T.A.M.B.A. practice moves through three connected movements.

Reflect

Reflect is an invitation to return to ourselves. It creates room to pause, breathe, and notice what is happening within us. Through quiet reflection, we can begin to recognize what has shaped us, what we are carrying, what we need, and what matters most. K.U.T.A.M.B.A. begins here because the way we relate to others is shaped by how honestly and gently we can relate to ourselves. Reflect asks us to meet ourselves with curiosity rather than judgment and to make space for the parts of ourselves that may have been overlooked in the rush of everyday life.

Relate

Relate is an invitation to turn toward one another with care, curiosity, and presence. It asks us to listen more deeply, to notice both our shared humanity and our differences, and to consider how our words, choices, and ways of being affect the people around us. As we practice the values together, we can strengthen trust, make room for belonging, and build relationships in which people feel seen and respected. Relate reminds us that meaningful community is not built through proximity alone. It grows through attention, kindness, and the willingness to see one another.

Rise

Rise is an invitation to move forward with intention. It is where reflection and relationship become daily practice, shaped by the values we choose to carry into our families, teams, schools, faith communities, and wider communities. Rising asks us to consider what is possible when we act with greater care and purpose. Through small, steady choices, we can help create the kinds of communities in which people feel valued, connected, and more fully themselves.
